Cloud Solutions Architect

About the Role

We're looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure for our clients. You'll be the technical authority on cloud architecture decisions, guiding teams through migrations, modernisation, and cost-optimisation initiatives.

This role combines deep technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures.

What You'll Do

• Design cloud architectures on AWS, Azure, and GCP that meet performance, security, and compliance requirements
• Lead cloud migration strategies including assessment, planning, and execution
• Develop reference architectures and best practices for cloud-native applications
• Perform cost analysis and optimisation for existing cloud environments
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to implement infrastructure as code and automation
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide recommendations for improvement
• Present technical solutions to client stakeholders and leadership teams
• Stay current with cloud services, emerging technologies, and industry trends

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture or senior infrastructure roles
• Deep expertise with at least two major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation)
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong documentation and diagramming skills (architecture diagrams, runbooks)

Nice to Have

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent certifications
• Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
• Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven design patterns
• Background in consulting or professional services
